The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced that Berkeley College student-athlete Robert Parker of Woodbridge, NJ, and member of the Berkeley College New Jersey Men’s Soccer team, is the National Division II Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year. The announcement took place at the 2018 USCAA Soccer National Tournament Banquet in Virginia Beach, VA, on November 7, 2018.

“What he does on and off the field is amazing,” said Bruno Ferreira, Head Coach, Berkeley College New Jersey Men’s Soccer team. “He deserves this honor and much more. This is the highest honor that a student-athlete in our program has ever received, and I am very proud that Robert Parker won this award.”

Mr. Parker logged more than 1,180 minutes on the field this season, allowing 27 goals and making 82 saves. He also carried an impressive 3.96 grade point average at Berkeley College. In addition, he is involved with youth soccer players at the Soccer Palace in West Orange, NJ.  He also volunteers to orchestrate toy drives at Old Bridge High School, NJ, and at the Senior Olympics.

“I’m proud to receive this recognition from the USCAA,” Mr. Parker said. “I know that in life there will always be growth and improvement, but also adversity. You just have to take it all in, continue to improve and appreciate every moment.”
