UNIQUE ARTWORK OF GILBERT ADJIBADE
EXTENDED THROUGH DECEMBER AT BERKELEY COLLEGE

The artwork of Gilbert Adjibade, on display at the Midtown Manhattan Gallery, 3 East 43rd Street, New York City, has been extended through December 30.  The exhibit can be viewed Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Mr. Adjibade was born in Porto-Novo, Benin, and came to the United States just a few years ago. He has been painting for as long as he can remember, with contemporaries  along the way describing his work as full of emotional sensibility.  He is an artist who transports the viewer to a universe of vivid colors, always with humor and a fine quality.

“I have been inspired by Henri Rousseau, the French Post-Impressionist painter who worked in the naïve or primitive manner,” said Mr. Adjibade.  “Like him, I have always been happy to observe nature and paint what I see.”

He has shown his artwork in the U.S. and abroad, including the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, France; Dakar Women’s Group, Dakar, Senegal; Gallery Afrique Culture, Brussels, Belgium; Gallery Attitude, Paris, France; and the World Fine Art Gallery, New York, NY.

Robert Keiber, Curator, Berkeley College, Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn Galleries, said that Mr. Adjibade’s work is emotional and colorful.  “I’m glad we were able to extend this unique exhibit,” said Mr. Keiber.

For more details about the exhibit, please e-mail Mr. Keiber at rjk@BerkeleyCollege.edu. or call 212-252-2065.
