Berkeley College Celebrates 85th Anniversary with Donation of
Sports Balls
to Children’s Aid and Family Services

Berkeley Paramus

In September, Berkeley College delivered 85 colorful kickballs, basketballs, volleyballs and footballs to Children’s Aid and Family Services in Paramus, NJ, symbolizing the College’s 85th anniversary.

Berkeley College is a longtime supporter of Children’s Aid and Family Services, providing mentorship as well as volunteer hours on its annual Community Service Day.

According to the organization, Children’s Aid and Family Services preserves, protects and, when needed, provides families. Programs include adoption and foster care, baby and elder care, a learning center, and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

“Thank you so much to Berkeley College for the donation of sports balls,” said Melinda Iannarone, Volunteer and Resource Specialist, Children’s Aid and Family Services. “Children in our care have rarely experienced the simple joys of childhood. Donations like these give them the greatest gift of all  allowing them to simply be kids.

Earl Brown, Berkeley College Business Developer, Career Services, has volunteered with Children’s Aid and Family Services since 2013, acting as a youth mentor and presenting workshops on topics including academic success, self-esteem and career development.

“Children’s Aid and Family Services is an amazing organization that provides resources and positive influence in the lives of discouraged youth,” Mr. Brown said, adding that he also feels fortunate to be able to ignite young people’s desires for higher education through his work with the organization.
