It is gratifying to be a part of a community that cares so much about quality and to see this unwavering focus on student success from faculty and staff.”

In welcoming the attendees to Berkeley College, President Smith said, “The challenges in bringing adult students to the higher education space are real. At Berkeley College, we are using predictive analytics to indicate where students may have challenges. We are examining the indicators in real time so we can intervene to impact that student’s progress.”

“How does your (institution’s) vision and mission translate to what you are doing related to Quality Matters?” asked Meg Benke, PhD, Interim Provost, SUNY Empire State College and keynote speaker for the QM East Regional Conference. “I tell my faculty that people like them developed these resources based on research,” she said. In addition to speaking with administrators and faculty in terms they can relate to, Dr. Benke encouraged participants to share their results and to inspire others. “It is important for us to be in the conversations and ready to speak about the quality work we do at our institutions.”
