Seated, left to right, for this panel are Kristine Duffy, EdD, President, SUNY Adirondack; Kenneth Adams, Dean, Workforce and Economic Development, Bronx Community College, CUNY; Marsha Pollard, PhD, Provost, Berkeley College; and Cathy S. Dove, President, Paul Smith’s College; and Cynthia Proctor, Director, Communications and Academic Policy Development for the Office of the Provost, State University of New York. The panel also discussed stackable- and micro-credentialing in higher education and the need for higher education to continue to work closely with the business community in order to ensure students are graduating with the skills employers need. “Education and business partnerships are instrumental to ensuring that our college-to-career pathways are preparing our students for the jobs of today and tomorrow,” Dr. Pollard said. “Stackable academic programs that offer micro-credentials will also offer our students the flexibility and tangible skills that will support their success in entering into, advancing in, or changing their careers.”
