Photo Caption: The New Jersey Library Association College and University Section/Association of College and Research Libraries, New Jersey Chapter (NJLA-CUS/ACRL-NJ) recognized Amanda Piekart, Director, Research and Instructional Services, Berkeley College, with the 2018 Distinguished Service Award during its conference on June 1, 2018. The award is presented to an individual who has enriched the profession of librarianship in New Jersey by her contributions. Ms. Piekart has been an active member of NJLA-CUS/ACRL-NJ, as well as the Virtual Academic Library Environment (VALE), for eight years. She has served as Co-chair of the NJLA-CUS/ACRL-NJ User Education Committee since 2013, where she leads discussions and workshops related to issues of information literacy. She also has served as Co-chair of the VALE Conference Planning Committee since 2016. At Berkeley College, Ms. Piekart provides leadership and strategic direction to the Library’s instructional services and oversees the design, development and implementation of library resources to assist in the development of engaged and critical learners.
