NEW BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEGREES IN ACCOUNTING, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, AND HEALTH SERVICES MANAGEMENT AT BERKELEY COLLEGE OFFER STUDENTS IN NEW JERSEY GREATER COURSE FLEXIBILITY
Berkeley College in New Jersey now offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in Accounting and International Business through the Larry L. Luing School of Business and in Health Services Management through the School of Health Studies. Berkeley College also offers Bachelor of Science degrees in these disciplines.
“Students pursuing BBA degrees can choose more electives, allowing them to take additional courses in their major or in other business areas,” said Marianne P. Vakalis, EdD, Berkeley College Provost. “The BBA degree may be an attractive option for students who have earned an Associate’s degree at a two-year college.”
The Accounting program at Berkeley College prepares students for a range of career opportunities with accounting firms, with public and private companies, and with numerous other types of organizations. Participation in student chapters of professional associations, student clubs, and alumni interaction can help students make important industry connections. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of accountants is projected to grow 13 percent from 2012 to 2022, about as fast as the average for all occupations. The BBA in Accounting is offered at Berkeley College in Newark, Woodbridge and Woodland Park, and through Berkeley College Online®.
The International Business program at Berkeley College provides an integrated foundation in international trade, marketing, finance, and management that focuses on global business practices. In addition, students complete global business simulation projects and may participate in Model United Nations conferences with students from around the world. At a Growth, Jobs and Prosperity in the Digital Age 2014 conference, which was co-sponsored by the United States Council for International Business, participants discussed how emerging technologies create the potential for new business opportunities, economic growth and job creation. The BBA in International Business is offered at Berkeley College in Paramus, Woodbridge and Woodland Park, and through Berkeley College Online®.
Health Services Management
The Health Services Management program prepares students with the important business and technology skills needed for positions in such areas as administration, insurance, billing, and management. Graduates may pursue positions with hospitals, physicians’ offices, clinics, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, and numerous other types of healthcare-related facilities. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare professions are among the fastest growing occupations, with the healthcare and social assistance sector accounting for nearly a third of the nation’s projected job growth from 2012 to 2022. The BBA in Health Services Management is offered at Berkeley College in Dover, Newark, Woodbridge and through Berkeley College Online®.
