MICHAEL McATEER, DBA, APPOINTED AS DEAN,
BERKELEY COLLEGE SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES. 

 

Michael McAteer, DBA, has been appointed Dean, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies.  In this role, Dr. McAteer will maintain academic standards, oversee the hiring of faculty, and work with other Deans to support the mission and values of Berkeley College.                  

“Dr. McAteer has more than 20 years of professional experience,” said Beth M. Castiglia, PhD, Berkeley College Provost. “He has shown an unwavering dedication to his students and their academic success.  He is committed to excellence in the classroom and is well respected by his peers.  As Dean, he will contribute to programs that help our students move forward in areas like Graphic Design, Interior Design, Legal Studies and Justice Studies.”

Dr. McAteer currently teaches in the Berkeley College School of Graduate Studies.  Since joining Berkeley College in 2010, Dr. McAteer has held several leadership roles, including Interim Dean of the School of Professional Studies, Interim Dean of the Larry L. Luing School of Business®, and Interim Associate Chair, Management.   

Prior to joining Berkeley College, Dr. McAteer ran his own insurance company and served as Senior Vice President at Zurich North American Financial Enterprises, a global financial insurance and risk management organization.  He is the founder and president of Specialty Solutions, LLC, a management consulting firm.

Dr. McAteer holds a DBA from the University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies, Phoenix, AZ.  He earned an MBA in Finance from Fordham University, Graduate School of Business, New York, NY, and a BS in Finance from Fordham University, College of Business Administration, Bronx, NY.
