MARISOL ABUIN, CHAIR, ONLINE, BERKELEY COLLEGE
Marisol Abuin, Chair, Online, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies, was recognized by the YWCA of the City of New York (YWCA-NYC) at the 43rd Annual Academy of Women Leaders Salute Luncheon on November 18, 2016. The luncheon, which was held at the New York Marriot Marquis in New York City, is a celebration of the women leaders who inspire greatness in us all.
The YWCA-NYC is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The Salute Luncheon is a strategic opportunity to give companies a chance to recognize exceptional senior executives or rising stars. Ms. Abuin joins a network of more than 3,000 distinguished professionals and pioneers who motivate others.

Ms. Abuin joined Berkeley College in 1999 as an instructor in Paralegal Studies. Prior to her current position, she served as Chair of Legal Studies, Dean and Chair of the School of Professional Studies, and Coordinator of Paralegal Studies in White Plains, NY. She received the Faculty of the Year Award in 2008, and the Faculty of the Year Award for Faculty Technology in 2015.
Before joining Berkeley College, Ms. Abuin was an adjunct faculty member in the Paralegal Certificate and Legal Nurse Consultant Program at Long Island University, and an adjunct faculty member in the Paralegal Certificate Program at Queens College. She also worked as a Legal Editor in The Thomson Company and as a Senior Tax Consultant in Financial Counseling Services at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, in New York City. Last year, she was recognized by the New York City Paralegal Association for her leadership. She has also served as a member of the American Bar Association Approval and Re-approval of Paralegal Programs.
Ms. Abuin holds a Doctor of Law degree from Fordham University School of Law and a BS in Accounting from Fordham College of Business. She is a member of the NYS Bar Association and the American Association for Paralegal Education.
