Photo Caption: The Kurogo Conference, a community for mobile technology in higher education, recently recognized the Berkeley College Information Systems team with an Appademy Award for its innovation and best practices in creating a mobile campus experience. The award, for Best Use of the Modo XModule, was presented at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June. Accepting the award (L to R) are Leonard De Botton, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, of Berkeley Heights, NJ; Thomas Marchese, Programming Manager, of Woodland Park, NJ; and Robert Torres, Senior Online Application Administrator, of Randolph, NJ, all of Berkeley College. Not pictured is Jim Williams, Senior Systems Architect, of Newton, NJ, who created the technology framework behind the XModule. By utilizing XModule, a function of the Modo Labs toolset, Berkeley College provides students with engaging content within the Engage mobile app, such as easy access to advisors and career counselors, and personalized notifications to keep students engaged with their studies and on track to graduation.
