RECEIVES BERKELEY COLLEGE FACULTY OF THE YEAR AWARD

Gregory Hotchkiss, ThD, Co-Chair, Humanities and Social Sciences, Berkeley College School of Liberal Arts, received the Faculty of the Year award for Outstanding Service to the College Community for his work and dedication to the Faculty Senate during a dinner reception held at Battery Gardens on November 3, 2016, in Manhattan, NY. A resident of South Bound Brook, NJ, Dr. Hotchkiss was among 18 Berkeley College faculty members and fellow professionals who were recognized by students and colleagues for their contributions to student-centered learning in exceptional ways.

“These annual awards recognize faculty members who serve as role models in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley College students,” said Beth M. Castiglia, PhD, Provost, Berkeley College. “We know they are successful because of their love of teaching. The feedback from their students and colleagues reflect this.”  

Dr. Hotchkiss defines excellence in teaching and learning as “the humanizing of the teacher/learner connection by liberation of the mind and engagement of the heart.” He said he is inspired to teach by the love of people and their freedom.
