In 2007, Cristyne Nicholas, with her partner, George Lence, founded Nicholas & Lence Communications, an award-winning, multi-platform firm that specializes in strategic public and government relations efforts to increase visibility and ROI for a diverse roster of clients including CEOs, major corporations, media companies, destinations, healthcare, cultural attractions and transportation companies. Nicholas & Lence has been recognized multiple times in the Observer’s “Most Powerful Public Relations Firms in America.”

 

Ms. Nicholas is a public relations veteran known for her commitment as CEO & President of NYC & Company, rebuilding New York City’s $27 billion tourism industry following the tragic events of September 11. She began marketing the City in 1994, serving as Communications Director for Mayor Rudy Giuliani. In 2012, Governor Andrew Cuomo appointed Ms. Nicholas as Chair of the State’s Tourism Advisory Council to advocate and help oversee the “I Love NY” tourism program.

 

She serves as Chairman of the 106-year-old Broadway Association and on various boards such as the Association for a Better New York, Pelham Picture House, Yale Women’s Campaign School, and is a member of the Friars Club and the Women’s Forum.

 

In 2017, Ms. Nicholas was received the “Above & Beyond” award from City & State. She was named one of the Top 40 under 40 by Crain’s New York Business, one of the Top 25 People in travel by Travel Magazine, and one of 10 most influential people in the travel industry by Meetings and Incentive Magazine.
