OF BERKELEY COLLEGE ONLINE
Berkeley College Associate Provost of Faculty Affairs Marianne P. Vakalis, EdD, is pleased to announce that Carol Lynn Smith, MBA, has been appointed Dean, Berkeley College Online. In this role Ms. Smith will work closely with School Deans, Department Chairs and the Office of Faculty Affairs, and will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing planning, delivery and assessment of online academic degree programs.
“Carol has years of experience in advisement, recruitment, retention, and online and onsite instruction in both graduate and undergraduate courses that will serve her well in her new role at Berkeley College,” says Dr. Vakalis.
Ms. Smith began working at Berkeley College as the Dean, Advisement for the Garret Mountain Campus in Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson), NJ, in June 2008. Before coming to Berkeley College she worked at the College of Saint Elizabeth, NJ, where she served in a number of different roles, including Director of Continuing Studies and Saturday Fast Track Admissions, Director of Saturday Fast Track Programs, and Academic Advisor. In addition she taught graduate and undergraduate online and onsite courses at the College of Saint Elizabeth and Centenary College, NJ, and taught undergraduate business and management courses for Herzing University Online.
Ms. Smith has an MBA degree in Global Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ; a BS degree in Business Management from Centenary College, NJ; and an AS in Business Management and an AA in Liberal Arts from the County College of Morris, NJ.
