BEYOND THE CLASSROOM:
FASHION MERCHANDISING AND MANAGEMENT STUDENTS
FROM BERKELEY COLLEGE LEARN ABOUT THE YARN PROCESS

Photo Caption: Berkeley College students studying Fashion Textiles for Apparel and Home visited the Lion Brand Yarn Studio in New York City on June 4, 2019 with Professor Jaimie Lafrano, Fashion Merchandising and Management, Berkeley College Larry L. Luing School of Business®. “This was a  great learning process and very relevant to what we do in class,” Professor Lafrano said. “The students remained engaged throughout the presentation as, for instance, when they tried to guess whether the yarns emanated from plant fibers or animal protein fibers, and when they learned about the dying process.” Above, Claire Cromwell, Studio Manager, Lion Brand Yarn Studio, presents an overview of fibers and yarns to the Berkeley College Fashion Merchandising and Management students.
