BERKELEY COLLEGE STUDENTS HELP THE HOMEBOUND
ELDERLY IN NEW YORK CITY

Students and staff from Berkeley College volunteer for Citymeals-on-Wheels

Photo Caption: LaToya Trowers-Bell, Professor, Health Services, Berkeley College School of Health Studies (front row, third from left), and students from the Brooklyn location recently volunteered at Citymeals-on-Wheels. The team gathered at the Encore Senior Center at St. Malachy’s Church, a distribution center for Citymeals-on-Wheels. They worked in pairs and went door to door to provide meals to the elderly residents in need. Professor Trowers-Bell said they particularly wanted to lend their time to Citymeals because of its mission — to provide a continuous lifeline of nutritious food and human companionship to the homebound elderly in New York City, helping them to live with dignity in their own homes and communities. Left to right (front row) are: Berkeley College students Kenyetta Forcey, Jasmine Roberts, Professor LaToya Trowers-Bell and Geneva George; (back row) Berkeley College students Astride Dorelus, Ayanna Riviere-Benjamin, Jerica Sandiford, William Flud and Vanessa Wickham. All of the students are from Brooklyn.
