Doctors use the dolls to demonstrate medical procedures in order to educate and comfort children preparing for surgery. Each child can decorate his or her own doll. The Berkeley College students also assembled more than 100 craft kits that will allow children to create their own storybooks. Project Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that provides free educational, recreational and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families.
