Berkeley College has been ranked in the top five on the Military Times magazine “Best for Vets: Colleges 2013” list in the Online and Nontraditional College category. Some 650 schools – more than ever before – responded to this year’s survey. The schools were rated on numerous factors based on feedback from student veterans. Schools in the Online and Nontraditional College category serve military students primarily online or through a decentralized network of campuses.

“It is an honor for Berkeley College to receive this high ranking,” said Dario A. Cortes, PhD, Berkeley College President. “We seek every opportunity to expand the programs and services offered to the approximately 500 military and veteran students who attend Berkeley College.”

“Being recognized as one of the top five colleges by Military Times shows the commitment of Berkeley College to our student veterans and their well-being,” said Richard E. Robitaille, EdD, Berkeley College Assistant Vice President of Military and Veterans Affairs. “We are proud to assist them during their academic journey.”

Berkeley College recently opened its third Veterans Resource Center in Newark, NJ, participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program under the G.I. Bill, and collaborates on educational ventures with the National Guard; the Army and Air Force at Fort Dix, NJ; the GoArmyEd distance learning program; and the Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership.  In addition, the college administers the Combat Veterans Educational Partnership (CVET) program.
