BERKELEY COLLEGE RANKED AMONG
BEST PLACES TO WORK IN NEW JERSEY
Berkeley College was recently named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey for 2011. This is the sixth year the College has received the award.
“Berkeley College is honored to be recognized as a dynamic workplace during our 80th anniversary year,” said Dario A. Cortes, PhD, Berkeley College President. “Our anniversary theme is ‘Changing Lives for 80 Years.’ This award acknowledges that the College not only changes the lives of its students, but also the lives of the associates and faculty members who find fulfillment in their work.”
The award program, created in 2005, is produced by NJBIZ and sponsored by Gibbons, P.C. and Novo Nordisk. It was designed to identify and honor the places of employment in New Jersey that benefit the state’s economy, workforce and businesses.
The Best Places to Work in New Jersey program recognizes 70 companies in two groups, depending on number of employees.
The program is in partnership with Garden State Council SHRM, The New Jersey State Chamber, Employers Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
“The benefits offered by Berkeley College to our more than 800 associates help us to attract and keep the best faculty and staff,” said Karen Carpentieri, Berkeley College Vice President of Human Resources. “Some of these benefits include waiving tuition at Berkeley College for associates and their dependents; an associate referral incentive program; a Healthy Living Wellness Program; a flexible spending account for out-of-pocket expenses; pet insurance; and a paid time-off policy to help balance work and family life.”
Berkeley College will be honored at the Best Places to Work in New Jersey awards dinner on Tuesday, April 26, at the Hilton East Brunswick.
A leader in business education for 80 years, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and enrolls nearly 9,000 students —including more than 800 international students — in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs. The College has four New Jersey locations — Woodland Park, Paramus, Woodbridge, and Newark. And in New York there are four locations — Midtown Manhattan, Lower Manhattan in the Wall Street area, Brooklyn, and White Plains. Berkeley College Online also offers full degree programs.
