Berkeley College is exhibiting the photography of Ken Jones at its New York City Midtown Gallery, First Floor Lobby, 12 East 41st Street. This exhibit is on display from October 1 through December 30 — Monday through Friday — from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm and on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. An artist’s reception will be held on Wednesday, October 9 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
Born and raised in New York City, NY, Mr. Jones said that as a child he always identified with the artistic. He attended the High School of Art and Design where he discovered an innate love for photography. At that time he resolved to spend his entire career cultivating his skills to become the most professional, knowledgeable and experienced photographer possible.
Mr. Jones says he still feels riveted and excited by photography, even 30 years into his career. He believes that as long as his passion is strong, his career will continue to develop. “While fortune and blessings have helped me fulfill my lifelong dream of being an artist, hard work allowed me to excel to the top of my profession, and I have no intention of slowing down any time soon,” he said.
Robert Keiber, Curator, Berkeley College New York City Midtown and Brooklyn Galleries, said, “We are so excited to have the opportunity to exhibit photography of such high quality. Ken is a master.”
Mr. Jones has photographed a number of companies in a variety of industries, including Prai Cosmetics, Fubu Entertainment, Limited Brands, Artisan Complete, Biacci, Ketchum, W Hotels, Oppenheimer Fund, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, The Cipriani Group, City Parks Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Some notable celebrity clients include Donald Trump, Montel Williams, Naomi Campbell, Amit Gupta and the late Ed McMahon.
At present, two of his images are being shown at the Association of Photographers (AOP) Open Awards competition, in London, England. It is the only AOP competition where professionals and amateurs compete on equal terms. The competition has been running for 13 years and each year attracts approximately 1,500 entries from around the world.
