Berkeley College is exhibiting the work of abstract and landscape artist Kenneth Dinkel at its gallery, 255 Duffield Street, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY.  This exhibit will be on display from September 29 through December 29.  It is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  An artist’s reception will be held on Saturday, September 29 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Born in New Rochelle, NY, Mr. Dinkel spent his early years in Rye where he became a national champion swimmer.  He attended Ithaca College, and then left academia to start a painting and refinishing company, Mr. Goodstrip. The artist has studios in Armonk, NY, and Chatham, MA.

In describing his work, Mr. Dinkel says, “Painting is my passion.  Creating works that are appealing and open up the imagination of the viewer bring me the most joy.  I try to produce pieces that are in harmony with nature, and to create art that brings light into darkened lives.”

Mr. Dinkel credits much of his success to Berkeley Gallery Curator Robert Keiber who gave the artist his first solo exhibition at the Berkeley College New York City Midtown gallery in July 2008.  At that time, Mr. Dinkel’s works were met with rave reviews and sales, with invitations to show at the Great Masters of Tomorrow International Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France, and the Contemporary Beijing International Art Expo at the China World Trade Center in Beijing, China.

His work has been featured, reviewed, and published in magazines including Gallery & Studio, an international art journal, and Armonk magazine.  His paintings are in corporate and private collections, including those of Axis Point, Inc., New York, NY; Fifth Street Capital, Inc., White Plains, NY; retired New York Yankee and Grammy nominated musician Bernie Williams, and two time Academy Award winner Ron Howard.  He is represented by the Virginia Barrett Gallery in Greenwich, CT.
