“ECU has one of the finest art departments in the country, and the number and quality of young artists it produces – including Mr. Abbas – is very impressive,” said Robert Keiber, Berkeley College Gallery Curator.
Mr. Abbas has been immersed in art for as long as he can remember He hails from Newark, NJ, and graduated from ECU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art in Illustration. At the university, he was accepted in the Honors Program, worked as an illustrator for its Expression magazine, and also was accepted into its Italy Intensives Program in Certaldo, Italy.
His work has created much excitement among his peers, and he held a solo exhibition of his paintings at the Above Tipsy Teapot in Greenville.
