Berkeley College is proud to announce the opening of its Veterans Resource Center for students. At the official ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this month at the New York City Midtown Campus, military and veteran students joined special guests to celebrate the establishment of this dedicated space. The Center is located on the 12th floor of the New York City Midtown Campus, 11 East 41st Street, adjacent to the Berkeley College Library Annex.

“As a leading institution for preparing students and graduates for successful careers, it is important for Berkeley College to continue its strong support of our military and veteran community,” said Dario A. Cortes, PhD, President of Berkeley College. “The Veterans Resource Center will benefit the nearly 400 military and veteran students we serve by having one location where these students can obtain information about benefits, receive counseling, and get more involved.”

Richard Robitaille, EdD, Berkeley College Assistant Vice President of Military and Veterans Affairs, thanked the administration for identifying and establishing the space the students sought to call their own. He also informed the students how the staff can help them get through the barriers they may confront while adjusting to civilian life.  Services include resolution of Veteran Administration (VA) benefits such as obtaining housing, home loans and medical benefits; information about state-specific benefits; and serving as a liaison with various support services relevant to college life such as advisement and financial aid.

“The Berkeley College Veterans Resource Center is also a great place to catch up with one another, read a magazine in between classes, or do schoolwork,” Dr. Robitaille added.

A leader in business education for 80 years, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and enrolls nearly 9,000 students — including more than 800 international students — in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs. The Collegehas four New York locations —Midtown Manhattan, Lower Manhattan in the Wall Street area, Brooklyn, and White Plains.  And in New Jersey there are four locations —Woodland Park, Paramus, Woodbridge, and Newark.  Berkeley College Online also offers full degree programs. Programs are offered in more than 20 career fields. The website address is
