BERKELEY COLLEGE ONLINE® SUPPORTS DISPLACED HOMEMAKERS THROUGH WOMEN’S OPPORTUNITY CENTER

Photo Caption: In September, the Student Development and Campus Life staff of Berkeley College Online® invited students, staff and faculty to collect new or nearly new toiletries for the Women’s Opportunity Center in Burlington and Camden counties, NJ, and succeeded in collecting more than 500 items. “We assess women who rely on community resources – women who are divorced, widowed, separated or have a spouse with a permanent disability,” said Karen Vitulli, Women’s Opportunity Center Case Manager, Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA. “Often, they have not been in the workforce for many years and are in need of items like toiletries. The Berkeley College Online staff reached out to us, and we are so grateful for their offer.” In honor of 20 years of excellence, each month Online chooses an activity that aligns with Berkeley Cares, which seeks to empower the Berkeley College community to positively impact society. Pictured (L to R) are: Jamie England, Student Accounts Administrator, Berkeley College Online; Karen Vitulli, Women’s Opportunity Center Case Manager, Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA; Amy Castillo, Assistant Dean, Student Development and Campus Life, and Katherine Wu, Personal Counselor, both of Berkeley College Online.
