Photo CaptionThe Berkeley College Men’s Basketball team shows off its championship rings at a ring ceremony in Midtown Manhattan on October 2, 2015. This past season, the Knights captured the College’s first-ever United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Championship on March 7, 2015, defeating the Nittany Lions of Penn State Mont Alto by a score of 57-55 in overtime. The team boasts two USCAA First-Team All Americans (Kenton Chan-Man and Keenan Langston both of Brooklyn), a USCAA Academic All-American (Alessandro DeAngelis of Manhattan) and a USCAA Honorable Mention All-American (Massiah Merritt of Brooklyn). The Knights also won the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Championship on February 22, 2015. This team has more to offer than just athletics — they have a collective grade point average of 3.2 At the presentation ceremony, Coach Chris Christiansen said, “If anybody’s going to [win a championship], this is the team that can do it.”
