BERKELEY COLLEGE JOINS IN NATIONWIDE RECYCLEMANIA TOURNAMENT
TO REDUCE WASTE AND INCREASE RECYCLING ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES

Photo Caption: Berkeley College students, staff and faculty joined 605 college communities nationwide in reducing waste during the 12th Annual RecycleMania Tournament. This year, 92 million pounds of recyclables and organic materials were recovered, which prevented the release of nearly 150,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.  In a friendly Berkeley College in-house competition, the White Plains location in Westchester County, NY, was named RecycleMania Tournament Champion for Most Recycling. Pictured with the award left to right are Cynthia Rubino, Berkeley College Campus Operating Officer, White Plains, and Vice President of Government Relations, NY; and Laura V. Harste, PhD, Instructor, Berkeley College School of Liberal Arts, and Chair, Project Greenpath. For more information on Project Greenpath and recycling statistics at Berkeley College go to http://www.berkeleycollege.edu/berkeley_bc/1975.htm.
