BERKELEY COLLEGE INVITES BUSINESS LEADERS TO PARTICIPATE
EVENT FEATURES KEYNOTE BY MONICA C. SMITH,

In honor of Women Entrepreneurship Week in New Jersey, Berkeley College, in partnership with the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC), is sponsoring a panel discussion with prominent women leaders in business and economic development. Women Entrepreneurs: Driving Success through Diversity, will explore the many facets of leading a business and how women entrepreneurs bring ideas to life. Panelists will address the importance of public private partnerships and social responsibility in building a thriving enterprise. This event is part of statewide Women Entrepreneurship Week activities being held from October 19th through 25th, 2015.
The event is being held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 8:00 to 11:30 am at Berkeley College, 536 Broad Street, in Newark.
The event is free and open to business owners, community leaders, students and aspiring entrepreneurs who would like to network and gain valuable information and resources to advance their business aspirations. Breakfast will be served.
The keynote speaker is Monica C. Smith, founder and CEO of Marketsmith, Inc., a celebrated serial and social entrepreneur with a passion for making the world a better place. Ms. Smith has achieved an unprecedented level of success at launching small start-ups and turning them into industry standard-bearers. Marketsmith, Inc. has been ranked by Inc. Magazine as the No. 1 Woman-Led Company in the New York metropolitan area, and ranked No. 5 nationwide. In August 2015 Marketsmith was ranked No. 97 on the Inc. 5000 list. Her desire to make a real difference in the world has led to the creation of her game-changing companies, and a number of charitable initiatives as well.
Ms. Smith will share remarks through a town-hall style meeting, and will reflect on the challenges and opportunities women face on the road to creating a successful enterprise.
Following Ms. Smith’s remarks, Dr. Beth Castiglia, Dean, Berkeley College Larry L. Luing School of Business, will moderate the discussion on Women Entrepreneurs: Driving Success through Diversity.
