BERKELEY COLLEGE IN WOODBRIDGE IS PREPARED
ONE YEAR AFTER HURRICANE SANDY

Photo Caption A (L to R): Katie Maricic, Berkeley College Reference/Instruction Librarian, and Bonnie Lafazan, Berkeley College Library Director, stand in the Berkeley College Library in Woodbridge. A year ago, Hurricane Sandy caused a nearby canal to overflow, flooding the entire lower level of the building. The library suffered water damage and lost books, computers and other equipment. Berkeley College in Woodbridge was closed for a week, and the lower level of the building was closed for nearly a month.

Photo Caption B: Jesse Warnick, Berkeley College Director, Buildings and Grounds, stands by the new generator outside Berkeley College in Woodbridge. A year ago, Hurricane Sandy caused a nearby canal to overflow, flooding the entire lower level of the building and causing a power outage for many days. Berkeley College in Woodbridge was closed for a week, and the lower level of the building was closed for nearly a month. The new generator will keep the sump pumps and server running in case of future outages.
