BERKELEY COLLEGE IN WHITE PLAINS HOSTS CHARACTER LUNCH FOR CHILDREN
AND COLLECTS DONATIONS TO BENEFIT LOCAL SOUP KITCHEN
Photo Caption: The Berkeley College Office of Student Development and Campus Life in White Plains hosted a Character Lunch for more than 80 local children. The event featured five activity rooms with themes that included a Berkeley Tea Party, a Dr. Seuss Room, a Pirates Room, and a Heroes Room. The entrance fee for the event was nonperishable foods to benefit the Grace Church Soup Kitchen in White Plains. Associates, students, alumni and a member of the Berkeley College Board of Trustees were involved in various stages of the planning and implementation of the event. White Plains Mayor Thomas M. Roach dropped by during the lunch to offer his support. This event was part of the Berkeley Cares initiative, which throughout the year assists charities in the critical areas of food, shelter, health and student success.
