BERKELEY COLLEGE IN BROOKLYN WELCOMES
U.S. CONGRESSWOMAN YVETTE D. CLARKE

U.S. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke with Berkeley College students and leadership

Photo Caption: On Friday, October 24, U.S. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, who represents the 9th Congressional District of New York, visited Berkeley College in Brooklyn. The Congresswoman met with students and College leadership, and discussed sponsored legislation and emerging careers in national security. “There is a huge, emerging profession in information technology and programming in cybersecurity. It is a new line of law enforcement,” Congresswoman Clarke said. “It is imperative that we have a very fluent cadre of professionals to protect government and the private sector, and that we look at ways to protect the nation.” Dario A. Cortes, PhD, President of Berkeley College, discussed how the College is working to enhance its academic offerings so more opportunities are available to students for employment in these areas. Pictured (L to R) are Dr. Cortes; Berkeley College students Kimberly Roberts and Destiny Serulle; U.S. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, 9th Congressional District of New York; student Justin Lopez; and Kevin L. Luing, Berkeley College Board Chairman.
