Chief Information Officers are always on the lookout for new technologies, as institutions rely more and more upon technology for solutions. The Leadership Board for CIOs recognizes that challenge and will address it at the spring meeting, hosted by Berkeley College at its Woodland Park, NJ, campus on March 28 and 29, 2019.

Leonard De Botton, Berkeley College Chief Information Officer (CIO), has been a board member of The Leadership Board for CIOs since its inception.

“Many important discussion topics will include a look at the next generation of administrative systems, new developments in security and privacy and artificial intelligence, and how to evolve to deal with new opportunities and challenges,” said Mr. De Botton.

“One of the main objectives of The Leadership Board for CIOs is to enhance communication among CIOs.  Despite all the advanced technologies, getting together face-to-face is still a crucial part of communications,” said Michael Zastrocky, PhD, Executive Director, The Leadership Board for CIOs.

The Leadership Board for CIOs was formed by the Chronicle of Higher Education and Dr. Zastrocky in 2009 to provide higher-education CIOs with online and face-to-face discussions to compare best practices or common practices, discuss major issues pertaining to member functions and needs, and provide benchmarking data and key metrics to support tactical and strategic planning.

In addition to his work with the Leadership Board, Mr. De Botton is a member of the Board of Trustees at NJEdge, and has presented at Educause, Blackboard and NJEdge conferences.  He is a resident of Berkeley Heights, NJ.
