Attendees to Learn, Connect and Share Ways to Improve Outcomes for Students

New York – Quality Matters (QM), a leader in quality assurance for online education, will hold its Regional Conference with the theme “Accreditation, Regulation, and Compliance – Oh My!” in New York City at Berkeley College on April 20 – 21, 2017. With a keynote presentation by A. Ellie Fogarty, EdD, Vice President, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the event features more than 30 workshop sessions. Dr. Fogarty will present “The Changing Landscape of Accreditation: Implications for Higher Education Institutions” at 8:45 am, Friday, April 21, 2017, at Berkeley College, 12 East 41 Street, NY.  Dr. Fogarty will share insights about what changes are on the horizon for quality assurance in higher education.

“This conference brings together leading voices in the education field to share best practices including how QM supports institutional efforts for accreditations and compliance,” said Deb Adair, Executive Director, Quality Matters. “Together, we hope to increase our awareness of federal regulations and public expectations, consider issues in communicating the quality of innovative instructional practices, and take away ideas for demonstrating student success and for supporting reaffirmation of accreditation.”

Berkeley College was among the first worldwide to achieve the quality standards certification from the United States Distance Learning Association and has been recognized for four consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Online Bachelor’s programs.

“The conference program includes specific ways for educators to learn about adopting best practices in online education,” said Beth Castiglia, PhD, Berkeley College Provost. “Berkeley College deeply aligns its online courses with QM Standards, undergoing reviews and earning certification for each course. This help us continuously enhance how we serve our students.”
