BERKELEY COLLEGE HONORS OUTSTANDING EDUCATORS
DURING FACULTY RECOGNITION DINNER

Berkeley College honored outstanding professors and innovators during its annual Faculty Recognition Dinner at The Terrace in Paramus, NJ, on November 14, 2018. Educators were recognized for commitment to students, excellence in teaching, and innovation, among other achievements.

“Student success is a central function of excellence within our faculty,” said Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College. “Berkeley College students are fortunate to learn from the caliber and depth of experience among our instructors and professional faculty support staff.”

Award recipients included:

  • Valbona Gjoligaj, PhD, Management, Larry L. Luing School of Business®, Distinguished Adjunct
  • Rory Hearn, Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Liberal Arts, Distinguished Adjunct
  • John LaValle, PhD, Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Liberal Arts, Mary Jane Clerkin Award for Innovation in Online Teaching
  • Lily Sacharow, Reference/Instruction Librarian, Berkeley College in Midtown Manhattan, Distinguished Librarian Award

Faculty who received the Commitment to Students award included:

  • Ronald Boswell, Accounting and Finance, Larry L. Luing School of Business
  • Rita Genao, MD, Medical Assistant program, School of Health Studies
