BERKELEY COLLEGE HONORS MARISOL ABUIN
WITH OUTSTANDING TEACHING AWARD
Berkeley College recently honored Marisol Abuin, JD, by presenting her with the New York Outstanding Teaching Award. The Award recognizes a faculty member who is a role model in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley students. Professor Abuin, Chair, Professional Studies Department, NY, joined Berkeley College in 1999 as an instructor in the Accounting Department. She later became the Director of the Paralegal Studies Department, Westchester Campus, and continues to teach in her current role.
“Marisol teaches class both online and on site and consistently receives outstanding evaluations from her students,” says Berkeley College Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, NY, Glen Zeitzer, PhD. “Students are not alone in recognizing her outstanding qualities as a teacher and a mentor. She is also very well respected and admired by her peers at Berkeley College.”
Before coming to Berkeley, Professor Abuin, who is fluent in Spanish, was an adjunct faculty member in the Paralegal Certificate and Legal Nurse Consultant Program at Long Island University and an adjunct faculty member in the Paralegal Certificate Program at Queens College. She also worked as a Legal Editor in Thomson Company, and a Senior Tax Consultant at Financial Counseling Services at Deloitte & Touche, LLP in New York City.
Professor Abuin holds a Doctor of Law degree from Fordham University School of Law, NY, and a BS degree in Accounting from Fordham College of Business, NY. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
