Berkeley College recently honored Manuel (Manny) Correa by presenting him with the Online Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching. The award recognizes a faculty member who is a role model in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley students. A faculty member since 2002, Mr. Correa has been teaching online management and business classes since 2003.

“Each fall Berkeley recognizes the importance of teaching to the success of the College and to the success of our students by presenting awards for excellence to outstanding faculty members,” said Berkeley College Interim President and Provost Dr. Rose Mary Healy.  “It is an honor and a pleasure to present Manny Correa with the Online Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching.”

“Although Mr. Correa teaches both onsite and online courses, it has been his ongoing commitment to online teaching and learning that has distinguished him among our students and his peers,” said Berkeley College Online Dean Dr. Susan Biro. “The best testimony to Mr. Correa’s dedication to teaching comes from his students who say they learn beyond what they need to succeed, and that Mr. Correa’s classes are enjoyable, fun and a great learning experience.”

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Correa is the Coordinator of Noncredit International Programs for Berkeley College. In this program, students of the European Business School come to Berkeley College to attend classes.

Mr. Correa joined Berkeley College after spending 30 years in the corporate sector, most recently as Vice President of Marketing for an executive search firm. He also works as an independent consultant, providing business consulting and planning services to small and mid-size organizations.

Mr. Correa is a former member of the board of the Yonkers, NY, chapter of the Young Men’s Christian Association. A Ph. D. candidate at Northcentral University, he holds an MBA in Finance from Iona College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College.

A leader in business education for more than 75 years, Berkeley College currently maintains an enrollment of more than 6,000 students, with nearly 600 international students in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs. The College maintains two New York campuses in Midtown Manhattan and White Plains, an Extension Center in Lower Manhattan in the Wall Street area, and four New Jersey campuses located in West Paterson, Paramus, Woodbridge, and Newark.
