Berkeley College honored eight faculty members during the Faculty of the Year Awards dinner held recently at Club 101 in New York City. The honorees received awards for excellence in teaching as recognized by their students and colleagues at Berkeley College.
“These annual awards honor faculty members who serve as role models in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley College students,” said Glen Zeitzer, PhD, Berkeley College Provost.
This year’s recipients are:
School of Business
Wolfgang Hinck, PhD, Associate Chair, Marketing. Dr. Hinck holds a PhD and MBA from the University of Texas-Pan American; and a BBA from Fachhochschule Nordostniedersachsen (now: Leuphana Universität Lüneburg) in Lüneburg, Germany.
Glen DeSalvo, Instructor, Accounting and Finance. Mr. DeSalvo has an MBA from Adelphi University; an MS from Long Island University; and a BA from the State University of New York, New Paltz.
School of Liberal Arts
Byron Hargrove, PhD, Instructor, Humanities and Social Sciences. Dr. Hargrove has a PhD and MA from the University of Maryland and a BA from the University of NorthCarolina, Chapel Hill.
Gail Wood-Miller, PhD, Instructor, English. Dr. Wood-Miller has a PhD and MA from New York University and a BA from William Paterson University.
School of Professional Studies
Edward J. Lynksey, EdD, Instructor, Justice Studies – Criminal Justice. Dr. Lynksey has an MA, an EdS and an EdD from Seton Hall University; and a BA from William Paterson University.
Marjorie Silverman, Instructor, Department of Health Services. Ms. Silverman has an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Duke University.
Giammarie Pieri, Instructor, Developmental Education. Ms. Pieri has an MA and BA from Webster University and an MA from the Teachers College, Columbia University.
Amanda Piekart, Reference/Instruction Librarian. Ms. Piekart has an MSLIS from Pratt Institute and a BA from William Paterson University.
