BERKELEY COLLEGE GLOBAL ALLIANCE CELEBRATES
CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR

See caption below.

The Global Alliance between Berkeley College and Guizhou University of Finance and Economics (GUFE) celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at a traditional Chinese restaurant, O Mandarin, in Hartsdale, NY.

“Chinese students usually celebrate the Lunar New Year with their family members, much like families in America during holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas,” explained Jim Lee, PhD, Management, Larry L. Luing School of Business®, and Executive Director, Global Alliance, who served as Master of Ceremonies at the celebration.

Sixty-seven students from GUFE enrolled at Berkeley College this semester, along with Berkeley College student ambassadors, faculty from Berkeley College and Westchester Community College, and administrators enjoyed each other’s company and traditional New Year cuisine. The group also enjoyed singing, toasts and good wishes for this New Year, 4716, the Year of the Dog.

In China, the attributes of the year’s animal are characteristic of qualities that resonate in that year and the sequence of the selected animals rotate according to the zodiac, every 12 years.
