“This is an important time for foundations and the private sector to step up and help individuals willing to work hard and seek higher education to better themselves,”said Mr. Phillips. “I look forward to helping make a difference through the initiatives of the Foundation.”

Dr. Cortes served as the President of Berkeley College from 2008 to 2015. As Executive Director, Dr. Cortes will be responsible for managing the activities of the Berkeley College Foundation, including fundraising. He will establish partnerships and relationships with corporations and businesses, working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations.

“It is a privilege to have an opportunity to continue to serve Berkeley College students. I have always been inspired by the academic commitment of our students as they pursue their college educations,” said Dr. Cortes. “The Foundation’s mission is to provide support and resources to Berkeley College students pursuing quality experiences in higher education.”
