BERKELEY COLLEGE FEATURED IN 2010
'GUIDE TO MILITARY-FRIENDLY COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES'
Berkeley College is again recognized for its outstanding military programs and veteran support services in the 2010 “Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities,” published by Military Advanced Education, a journal of higher learning for servicemen and women.
Since launching its Office of Military and Veterans Affairs in June 2009, this is the second time the College has been recognized. The December 2010 issue of Military Advanced Education will feature an article about the College and its efforts to support students who are veterans and active members of the military.
“Berkeley College is not only military-friendly in the programs offered to students, but also in the ways we show appreciation for troops at home and abroad,” said Berkeley College Assistant Vice President of Military and Veterans Affairs Richard E. Robitaille, EdD. “Last year, the College sent 2,400 holiday cards to troops serving overseas. In addition, Berkeley faculty, staff and students will march in this year’s Veterans Day Parade in New York City.”
Berkeley College participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program under the G.I. Bill, which allows as many as 1,550 of its students to have their tuition and fees covered each academic year. The College also collaborates on educational ventures with the National Guard; the Air Force at McGuire Air Force Base, NJ; the GoArmyEd distance learning program; and the Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership.
In 2010, the College launched CVET, the Berkeley College Combat Veterans Education Partnership, designed to meet the academic and career goals of combat veterans. For more information on the program, visit www.cvet.com.
A leader in business education for 79 years, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and enrolls more than 8,000 students — including 665 international students — in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs. The College has four New York locations — Midtown Manhattan, Lower Manhattan in the Wall Street area, Brooklyn, and White Plains. And in New Jersey there are four locations — Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson), Paramus, Woodbridge, and Newark. Berkeley College Online also offers full degree programs. Programs are offered in more than 20 career fields. The website address is www.BerkeleyCollege.edu.
