Berkeley College Exhibits Art of Larry Frank

Reception Features Book Signing of ‘My Diva’

with Artwork of Kenneth Dinkel also on Exhibit

Berkeley College is exhibiting “Divas,” - the artwork of artist Larry Frank at its New York City Midtown Campus Gallery, First Floor Lobby, 3 East 43rd Street. This exhibit will be on display from December 1 through 31.  It is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  An artist’s reception will be held on Thursday, December 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

The reception includes a reading and book signing of ”My Diva,” a collection compiled by Michael Montlack, Berkeley College Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences, NY.

Mr. Frank graduated from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York, NY, and attended graduate school at the University of Illinois.  He studied oil painting at the Educational Alliance and the Art Student’s League, both in New York, NY.

About his work, Mr. Frank says, “I see people in color, form, and space.  Each person radiates his or her true personality in a verbal and nonverbal way which allows me to capture the whole person. Drawing, painting, the decorative arts, needle arts – all complement each other for me as art forms.  Each is original art.”

Mr. Frank’s oil paintings, watercolors, and drawings can be viewed in more than 30 collections, with needlepoint and quilts in over 10 collections. These include participation in the West Side Arts Coalition shows, New York, NY; a one-man show at the Ripe Gallery, Greenlawn, NY; and another one-man show at the Chappaqua Library, Chappaqua, NY.  To view images of Mr. Frank’s work, visit www.larry-frank.com.

On display in the Second Floor Lobby at the Berkeley College Midtown Campus Gallery is the work of artist Kenneth Dinkel. An abstract and landscape artist, growth is essential to Mr. Dinkel and nothing excites him more than the exploration of color, which he experiences in different forms.  His work is vivid, showing a great deal of movement.  The artist’s images can be found at www.kennethdinkel.com.

For more information about these exhibits, please contact Berkeley Gallery Curator Bob Keiber at rjk@BerkeleyCollege.edu or call 212-252-2065.
