BERKELEY COLLEGE DIRECTOR RECEIVES TRIBUTE TO WOMEN AWARD
FROM BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, PATRIOTS’ PATH COUNCIL
Photo Caption: Shelly Nice Schumacher, Berkeley College Director, Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, receives a Tribute to Women Award from the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America, at the 2013 Tribute to Women Award Luncheon held November 15 at the Morris County Golf Club in Morristown, NJ. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Boy Scouts Youth Protection Program. Besides her involvement in academia, Ms. Nice Schumacher volunteers at Seaton Hackney Stables in Morristown, where she started the Petite Equestrian Program for toddlers, geared to build and enhance confidence, balance and coordination as well as social skills while working with size-appropriate ponies. She is well known for writing best-selling Amish Christian romances under the pen name Sarah Price. Today, she focuses on raising anti-bullying awareness by speaking at schools and online about the long-term impacts of bullying on both children and adults. Ms. Nice Schumacher also runs Pink Umbrellas, a social media platform she created to inspire those diagnosed with life-threatening diseases to remain positive and upbeat during and after their treatments.
