BERKELEY COLLEGE CREATES SPECIAL MEMORIES
FOR CHILDREN OF FALLEN U.S. TROOPS

More than 20 military families had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at Citi Field and Yankee Stadium, thanks to Berkeley College, Modell’s Sporting Goods, and Snowball Express, an organization dedicated to creating happy memories for the children of fallen U.S. troops.

The event at Citi Field included a meet-and-greet with Mets and Phillies players, as well as tickets to watch the game from “The Mo’s Zone” section of right field. The Yankee Stadium event featured a tour of Monument Park with former Yankee Jim Leyritz and tickets to watch the game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

“Berkeley College is proud to be part of this event, which gives back to our student veterans and the families of fallen servicemembers,” said Richard E. Robitaille, EdD, Berkeley College Assistant Vice President, Office of Military and Veterans Affairs. “These families have been through so much and have a long journey ahead of them. Seeing these children smile makes it worthwhile.”

“Thanks to sponsors like our friends at Berkeley College and Modell’s Sporting Goods, we are able to offer events like this, which brought our Snowball Express kids together for a wonderful day of bonding, friendship and fun,” said Jason Araghi, Event Coordinator for Snowball Express. “Snowflake Days provide our kids with an opportunity to create happy new memories and as important, give each of us a chance to recognize, thank and appreciate these special children and families for the sacrifice their loved ones have made for our country.”

A leader in providing career-focused education for more than 80 years, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and enrolls more than 8,700 students — including over 800 international students — in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree and Certificate programs. The College has three New York locations — Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn and White Plains. In New Jersey there are six locations — Woodland Park, Paramus, Woodbridge, Newark, Clifton and Dover. Berkeley College Online also offers full degree programs. Programs are offered in more than 20 career fields. The website address is www.BerkeleyCollege.edu.
