BASKETBALL TEAM TO GOLD MEDAL AT EMPIRE STATE GAMES

Photo Caption: Coach Sharod Tomlinson recently led the New York City women’s open team to the gold medal at the Empire State Games. The games are an Olympics-inspired competition between players from six areas of New York State. It was the New York City team’s first victory since 1991. “The team set its sights on the gold at the very first practice,” said Coach Tomlinson. “It was an honor to coach players with so much talent and drive.” Coach Tomlinson, a resident of Corona in Queens, NY, also coaches the Berkeley College women’s basketball team in New York.
