BerkeleyCollege is exhibiting “Paintings from a Private Place,” the work of artist Linda Butti.Her paintings will be on display at the Berkeley College Midtown Campus Gallery, First Floor Lobby, 3 East 43rd Street, from March 3 through 31.The exhibit is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday. An artist’s reception for Ms. Butti will be held on Wednesday, March 11 from to .
Ms. Butti is a New York-based artist whose work has been shown in many solo exhibitions, including the Elaine Benson Gallery, Bridgehampton, NY; Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Staten Island, NY; SUNY Institute of Technology, Utica, NY;Whitehall Gallery, New York, NY; and St. John’s University, New York, NY.
In addition, her artwork is included in numerous public and private collections, including those of NBC Studios, Mitsubishi Capital, the Duran Group, and the Chief Medical Examiner Offices – all in New York, NY.
Ms. Butti, who received her MFA in 1975 from BrooklynCollege, CUNY, also works in digital media as well as mixed media and oil paint.The recipient of numerous art awards, as well as seven New York State Council on the Arts grants, she also was elected Woman of the Year by the National Organization of Italian-American Women (1992) and is included in Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who of American Art.
