BERKELEY COLLEGE CELEBRATES RENAISSANCE HALL OPENING AND
HONORS BOROUGH OF WOODLAND PARK

WOODLAND PARK – Berkeley College will celebrate the official opening of Renaissance Hall – a $9 million facility that serves as a hub for student services – at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17. Following the ceremony, the College will host its 6th annual Under the Tent event, which welcomes area dignitaries and chambers of commerce for an awards ceremony and networking. This year, the College will recognize the Borough of Woodland Park in honor of its Centennial.

About Renaissance Hall

The newly constructed 35,000-square-foot Renaissance Hall was built by the College with private funds at a cost of $9 million. Its focal point is a modern atrium, comprising three stories of glass facing east.

The building is fully wireless for technology and comprises six classrooms; exterior and interior student and community gathering spaces; a dining facility; the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs; Student Development and Campus Life offices; the campus bookstore; the Academic Support Center and Walter A. Brower Library; work space for the School of Liberal Arts faculty; a fitness room; the Admissions Welcome Center; meeting and conference rooms; and a community room.

“Renaissance Hall provides an innovative environment that supports teaching and learning, and encourages students to reach their full potential,” said Dario A. Cortes, PhD, President of Berkeley College.

About Under the Tent

The 6th Annual Under the Tent event will be held in partnership with the Greater Paterson, North Jersey Regional, Paramus Regional, and Tri-County chambers of commerce.

The College also will recognize its longstanding relationship with Woodland Park when it presents Mayor Keith Kazmark with a plaque in recognition of the Borough’s 100th anniversary. The College sponsored the purchase of town signs when voters elected to change the Borough’s name from West Paterson in 2009, and took part in the Woodland Park Centennial parade and celebration earlier this year.

The event will feature jazz music, food and networking. To RSVP, contact Isabel Alarcon at mia@berkeleycollege.edu or 201-967-9667, ext. 1794.
