The Berkeley College community gathered at its Midtown Manhattan campus on East 43rd Street on July 11, 2016, to celebrate its 85th anniversary, following an 85-block relay led by the Berkeley College Men’s Cross-Country team. The reception also celebrated the impact Berkeley College has had on New York City and students since opening its first Manhattan-based campus 80 years ago.

Berkeley College launched its New York campus in 1936 on the top floor of the landmark Graybar Building. Today, Berkeley College hosts nearly 3,000 students and 500 faculty at its two midtown buildings on 41st and 43rd streets. Berkeley College continues to work closely with New York City’s workforce, and contribute to charities city-wide. “We look forward to many more opportunities and to a bright future in New York City,” said Kevin Luing, Board Chairman of Berkeley College.

Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College, accepted proclamations from Assemblyman Dan Quart, District 73, and Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer on behalf of Berkeley College.
