BERKELEY COLLEGE CELEBRATES
7TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY ON FRIDAY, JUNE 17
Approximately 350 Berkeley College faculty, staff, alumni and students will volunteer
more than 1,300 hours of community service at sites in New Jersey and New York
This Friday, June 17, Berkeley College celebrates its 7th Annual Community Service Day. Throughout the day, faculty, staff, alumni and students of Berkeley College will be volunteering at nearly 30 service-based organizations in New Jersey and New York.
Sites in New York include the St. John’s Bread and Life pantry in Brooklyn, NY; the Materials for the Arts center in Queens, NY; and the Stanley Isaacs Senior Center with Citymeals on Wheels in Manhattan, NY. Sites in New Jersey include the Park Recreation Department in Woodland Park, NJ; ITV It Takes A Village’s summer day camp program in Newark, NJ; the Bergen County Zoo in Paramus, NJ; and The Salvation Army in Dover, NJ.
“Community Service Day at Berkeley College helps build awareness about the role non-profit organizations play in keeping our local communities strong and vibrant,” said Michael Smith, President of Berkeley College. “This day also serves as an impetus for inspiring our faculty, staff, alumni and students to continue to share their time and talents beyond this special day.”

Community Service Day is an initiative of Berkeley Cares, which throughout the year assists charities in the critical areas of food, shelter, health and student success.
