ANNOUNCES NEW TRUSTEES

 

Berkeley College Board Chairman Kevin L. Luing is pleased to announce the appointments of Catherine C. Einersen, EdD, Dolores M. Fernandez, PhD, and Peter C. Harvey, Esq., to the Berkeley College Board of Trustees.

Catherine Einersen is an Assistant Dean of the College of Business Administration at Fordham University in New York City where she has guided the University’s international studies, global initiatives and learning for its students.  Dr. Einersen advises students on business majors, concentrations, international specializations, internships, study abroad opportunities and E-Portfolio’s.  She also served as Co-Director of the CBA London program at Heythrop College. As a dedicated educator with 20 years of effective teaching, counseling and ethical leadership in higher education, Dr. Einersen is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Fordham University.

Dr. Einersen serves as an alumni board member for Dominican College of Blauvelt and is a member of the American Council on Education, Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society, and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society. Throughout her successful career, she has received numerous academic and professional honors. She earned a BA degree from Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY, a MS in Education degree from the College of New Rochelle, NY, and an EdD from Fordham University Graduate School in Education in New York. 

Dolores Fernandez is a University Professor for The City University of New York (CUNY) at Hunter College.  Dr. Fernandez recently completed 11 years of service as President of Hostos Community College – The City University of New York. Prior to this position she served as Deputy Chancellor – Instruction and Development for the New York City Board of Education, and as Deputy Director of Program Services for the New York State Division for Youth. She also has served as a Board member of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation since 1998. Dr. Fernandez earned a BS degree from the State University of New York at Old Westbury, a MS degree in Education from Long Island University – C.W. Post College, and a PhD from Hofstra University in Long Island City, NY.

 

Dr. Fernandez has served in many leadership positions for the City University of New York and the State University of New York. She is a published author and earned certificates in Accelerated Schools for Urban School Reform from Stanford University and the MBA Board Leadership Program from Harvard University.

 

Peter Harvey is a partner of the firm Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, LLP, which provides a full range of services across more than 20 practice groups in both commercial law and litigation, and whose clients include a diverse group of institutions and individuals. He is past Attorney General of the State of New Jersey and a former federal prosecutor; as such, he has been a central player in government investigations and consumer fraud matters. A gifted trial lawyer, his more than 20 years of courtroom experience have also included significant commercial matters, frequently within the media and entertainment industry.

 

Mr. Harvey’s areas of practice include litigation, white collar defense and investigations, media and entertainment, mortgage and credit crises team, insurance coverage practice, and sports. He is a member of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), representative to the Executive Working Group on Prosecutorial Relations; Chairman, NAAG Subcommittee on Gang Violence; Chairman, NAAG Corporate Responsibility Securities Working Group; and member, NAAG Task Force on Youth Access to Alcohol; National Bar Association; and American Bar Association. Mr. Harvey earned a Bachelor’s degree with honors from Morgan State University and a JD degree from Columbia Law School in New York City.
