BERKELEY COLLEGE APPOINTS WOLFGANG HINCK, PhD,
AS DEAN, LARRY L. LUING SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

 

Berkeley College is proud to announce the appointment of Wolfgang Hinck, PhD, as Dean, Larry L. Luing School of Business. In this role, Dr. Hinck will maintain the strong academic standards of Berkeley College and oversee the hiring of business faculty who bring a combination of advanced degrees and years of practical corporate experience into their classrooms. He also will work with other deans to provide the comprehensive and supportive academic environment for which Berkeley College is known.

“Dr. Hinck has a high level of energy and is deeply passionate about empowering students to achieve professional and personal goals,” said Marianne P. Vakalis, EdD, Berkeley College Provost. “In addition, he has years of outstanding teaching and academic leadership experience that will serve him well in his new position.”

Dr. Hinck joined Berkeley College in 2010 as a member of the faculty in the Marketing Department. He was promoted to Associate Chair, Marketing, later that year and to Chair, Marketing, in 2012. Dr. Hinck has served as Interim Dean, Larry L. Luing School of Business, since the start of the Summer 2013 Quarter. In addition, Dr. Hinck has served on a number of committees at Berkeley College, including the College Marketing Program Review Team; the Faculty Affairs Committee; and the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Professional Development Committee. Dr. Hinck is a recipient of the Berkeley College 2011 Faculty of the Year Award, Larry L. Luing School of Business. 

Prior to joining Berkeley College, Dr. Hinck was a marketing faculty member at Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA.  His professional marketing background consists of full-time and/or consulting assignments with several German, French, English, Irish, Mexican, and U.S. organizations. He holds a PhD in International Business and Marketing and an MBA from the University of Texas-Pan American, Edinburg, TX; and a BBA in Marketing from the Fachhochschule Nordostniedersachsen, Luneburg, Germany. Dr. Hinck also graduated with a National Diploma in Business Studies from the Austin Waldron Regional Technical College, Carlow, Ireland.
