Berkeley College is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine C. Einersen, EdD, as Director of the Center for Global Studies. The Center seeks to disseminate knowledge of other cultures and societies; promote understanding of global, regional and national markets and business activities; and bring an international educational experience to Berkeley College students through a variety of initiatives.

“Dr. Einersen’s academic and career development experience will be a positive influence in furthering the Center’s process for preparing graduates to participate in the here and now of commerce and industry,” said Marianne Vakalis, Berkeley College Interim Provost. “We are increasingly involved with helping graduates succeed and excel in a global economy and a global environment.”

In addition to teaching Business Organization Management and Principles of Management courses, Dr. Einersen serves as Advisor to the Student International Club and as a Faculty Member of the Global Initiatives and Curriculum Committee. She began teaching in Fall 2012 in the Larry L. Luing School of Business at Berkeley College after distinguishing herself working with international students at Fordham University.  At Fordham she held both administrative and academic positions, including Assistant Dean and Director of International Initiatives, Gabelli School of Business; Assistant Dean, College of Business Administration and Director of Global Learning Opportunities and Business Experiences Program; Faculty Advisor to international students and the College of Business Administration’s Academic Honor Society; and Associate Director, Career Services.

“The Center for Global Studies expands the ways Berkeley College integrates a global perspective into the academic and professional experiences of our students and helps them understand the value of this diverse and inter-related environment,” said Dr. Einersen. “We do this by providing global programs, resources and initiatives, and global learning for all students.”

A leader in business education for more than 80 years, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and enrolls more than 7,700 students — including over 800 international students — in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs.
