Berkeley College Appoints Beth M. Castiglia as Dean, Larry L. Luing School of Business

Beth M. Castiglia, PhD, has been appointed Dean, Berkeley College Larry L. Luing School of Business. In this role, Dr. Castiglia will maintain academic standards, oversee the hiring of faculty, and work with other deans to support the Mission and Values of Berkeley College.

“As Dean, Dr. Castiglia will provide academic and administrative leadership for the Larry L. Luing School of Business and further curriculum development that engages Berkeley College students so they can achieve success in the fields of Accounting, Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising and Management, Financial Services, Information Technology Management, International Business, Management, and Marketing Communications. She also has a deep commitment to the importance of diversity and global learning in the Berkeley College curriculum and their relevance to career success,” said Marianne P. Vakalis, EdD, Berkeley College Provost.

Dr. Castiglia most recently served as Dean and Professor, School of Business at Felician College in Lodi, NJ. While there she developed six degree programs at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, including preparation for launching the College’s first self-paced, multi-modal Doctor of Business Administration program.

Dr. Castiglia’s prior teaching experience includes faculty assignments at Ramapo College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also served as a Research Assistant in Economics at Goldman Sachs and Co. Dr. Castiglia has authored and co-authored numerous articles, most recently published in The Journal of Higher Education Practice and The Research in Higher Education, and is the recipient of several Distinguished Research Awards from Allied Academies and the John L. Green Excellence in Business Education Award from the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). She has delivered papers, presentations and workshops at numerous college and business education proceedings and conferences.

Dr. Castiglia’s service to the profession includes leading organizations through efforts that range from strategic planning to outcomes assessment and journal review work.

She holds a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN, an MS in Economics from Pace University in Manhattan, NY, and a BS in Economics from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ.
